The Gas Detector ProGas 4 (Product code: PW-017-PG4-X) is designed for critical functions such as measuring, monitoring and detecting hazardous gases in industrial installations. It can operate under harsh industrial conditions with widely varying environmental parameters including high temperatures, mist and dust.
Installation options include being integrated into the Gas Safety System Sigma Gas or installed as a stand-alone detector, integrated with supervisory systems using its 4..20 mA output signal or RS-485 interface.
The ProGas 4 is based on a new electronic design and a new measuring head, either ‘FL’ or ‘FH’. With a pellistor sensor, it offers a halved response time (T90) (for the HL head with a pellistor sensor, T90 ≤ 9 s for Hydrogen). To prevent condensation effects on the sensor, the inside of the gas measuring head ‘FH’, including the sensor, is maintained at a controlled temperature of 10 °C above ambient.
Supported power supply: VCC 15 – 50 V (DI = Teta: 18 – 50 V) and power PCC 0.3 – 4 W.
Environmental and operating parameters: ambient temperatures (specified depending on device configuration) 0 – 40 °C (storage); humidity 0 – 99% (short term) and 10 – 90% (long term/storage); pressure 1013 ± 10% hPa.
Analog output: 4 – 20 mA; output type sink/source (ROBC_MAX: 300 Ω, source mode; US_MAX in sink mode: 30 V max. voltage between pins ‘S’ and ‘-’). Digital communication: RS-485; Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU, Sigma Bus. Radio communication: Bluetooth 4.2.
Protection and enclosure materials: measuring head with membrane FL.M / FH.M: IP65/IP67; measuring head with membrane FL.M / FH.M + OB2: IP66/IP67; other measuring heads: IP63. Enclosure material: Aluminium spray epoxy. Measuring head material: SS316L / SS316L + PTFE. Weight: 1.3 kg.
Mandatory periodic inspection: every 12 months (calibration certificate validity), with the time potentially shortened due to difficult working conditions.
Mounting: to the supporting structure using 2 screw holes M6, hole spacing 118 mm with a minimum distance from the wall. Recommended mounting brackets: WM8.
